Webelos to Scouts
The transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts can be challenging for both the Scout and his parents. Selecting a Boy Scout Troop is like buying a good pair of hiking boots... You better try them on before you buy, because comfort is everything. Boy Scout Troops, like a good hiking boot, must fit the Scout, and he must be comfortable with the Troop, and it's program. Use the following guidlines to help find your Troop:
-
All Troops are different, they have different people and programs. Find the Troop that is right for you.
-
You should visit at least three Troops before deciding.
-
After visiting three Troops, You should visit your favorite Troops again before deciding.
-
Be sure that all of your questions are answered by the Scouts or their Leaders.
-
The best way to know a Troop is to participate in an overnight activity with the Troop.
Boy Scouts Troop 99 attempts to provide at least three opportunities for overnight activities. Although the schedule may vary from year to year, Troop 99 will host Webelos, Webelos Dens, and/or Packs for all PA Dutch Council or Harvest District Cub Scout events: Webelos Woods, Cub Scout Breakfast Hike or Cub-O-Ree, and Council Camporees. For this years activities please review the attached Troop 99, Webelos to Scouts Schedule
Every year, Troop 99 does it's own Webelos Weekend at Camp Horseshoe where we introduce interested Webelos and their parents to camping with Troop 99. The Troop 99, Webelos to Scouts Schedule has the dates for this years events, including our Webelos Weekend, and the necessary contact information.
